WEEKEND BIKE TRIP!
We are planning our first extended bile trip to the Silver Comet-Chief Ladiga Trail in Georgia and Alabama the weekend of April 11-13, 2014.
Silver Comet Trail—Chief Ladiga Trail Ride 42 Miles A/B/C Riders
This will be our first 2014 club outing to the western part of Georgia and extending into Eastern Alabama. The SCT-CLT is a relatively flat course that is mostly a converted rail bed (Rails to Trails) that has been converted to a multi-use trail, ideal for biking. We will begin in Cedartown, Georgia and stay overnight at the Holiday Inn Express and start our trek Saturday morning from the Cedartown trail entrance. We will end in Jacksonville, AL and stay at the Hampton Inn. Sunday morning after breakfast we will ride back to Cedartown. We will need a head count by March 8 for reservations at the 2 hotels.

We were founded in September, 2006 and now have more than 180 members. We are a non-profit bicycle touring club open to cycling enthusiasts in and around Southern Beaufort County, South Carolina.
We are affiliated with the League of American Bicyclist and Palmetto Cycling Coalition of South Carolina. Kickin' Asphalt was selected as the "Best Bicycle Club in the Southeastern United States" in 2008 based on growth, community involvement, and use of League of American Bicyclists services.
We currently ride most Saturday mornings, starting at different locations around Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort. Rides usually range between 15 and 40 miles and average 12-18 mph, depending on the Ride Classification level.
